I know, it’s mid september. Were all clinging to the last bit of remaining summer like a hungry kid to his bag of gummy worms. While the inevitable is approaching us, it’s sometimes easier to ignore the fact that fall is around the corner, and just enjoy these few days of 90 degree weather that we have left. The only other solution would be to move to Florida or Arizona where they have one season and one season only: Summer. Personally that would get boring. It would then ruin the unique-ness tropical drinks bring to the cocktail world. They wouldn’t be as special anymore because that’s all you’d be drinking. So for those of us who live in the part of the country with seasons, this drink is meant for you. Take a little mini vacation. Relax in the cool grass, bask in the warming sun, feel the crisp breeze across your skin, and sip on this Mangolicious cocktail.
Mangolicious
1.5oz Malibu Coconut Rum
Mango Juice
Pineapple Juice
Float of Watermelon Pucker
Fill your glass with crushed ice. Add the sweet coconutty deliciousness we all know as Malibu. pour in equal amounts of pineapple and mango juice. And hey, we don’t all have mango juice laying around (I found some at the dollar store though, just and fyi) so…if you can’t find mango, use orange juice instead just remember though, it can’t be called a mangolicious any more. Maybe Orange-licious. But that doesn’t have quite the same roll of the tongue to it as Mango does. Anyway. Last step: float a little bit of watermelon pucker on the top and watch the pink float down slowly to the bottom of the glass. Looks pretty doesn’t it? Garnish with a pineapple slice if you have one, or an umbrella and some cherries. Enjoy your vacation!
