For this recipe I used TAZO Green tea with Ginger. It gives the mojito a little zing in my opinion – but any old green tea will work just fine. Heck, go ahead and use Arizona if that’s all you’ve got laying around. Green tea has many health benefits in any form you drink it. Pouring a little rum into the mix just makes it more fun. The mint and lime juices pair up very nicely with the subtle flavors of green tea and ginger. I definitely recommend trying this one if you’re a big fan of mojitos.
Green Tea Ginger Mojito
1oz Silver Rum
1 Mug of Freshly Brewed and Sweetened Green Tea ( cooled is best)
2 Lime Wedges
4-6 Fresh Mint leaves
In your shaker, pour in a little bit of rum, throw in your lime wedges and mint leaves. Muddle the heck outta those suckers. When it looks sufficiently muddled, add the rest of the rum. Add some ice so your shaker is filled halfway with ice. Pour in the green tea ( you might have a little left over) Shake shake shake away. Shake some more. Shake a lot. That’s a lot of shaking. Okay it should be good by now. Pour the entire mixture into a collins glass and garnish with a mint blossom.
